Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, widow of David D. Smith died on Wednesday of lung disease, aged 71 years. She was born in Butler County, Ohio, but has spent most of her life in this community. Six children were born to her of the number three still survive. Mrs. Smith was a life-long member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and was a woman of much beauty of character. The funeral was on Thursday afternoon from the old home. = kbz

Elizabeth Smith died at her home on the corner of Plum and Fremont Streets Tuesday night at 11:40 o’clock of heart and lung trouble from which she had suffered ten weeks. Mrs. Smith was seventy one years of age. She moved from Butler County, Ohio, to this county when but six years of age. Fifty two years ago she was married to D. D. Smith and to them was born six children, three of whom survive to mourn her loss and who have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. Mrs. Smith had been a consistent member of the First Presbyterian Church of this city for forty years. She was an honest industrious woman, loved and respected by all that knew her, a good faithful mother and grandma to all.
The funeral took place at 2 p.m. Thursday from the residence.
